Running a Teamfight Tactics tournament does not have to be complicated. Whether it is 8 players or 64 competitive entrants, this guide covers everything you need to run a clean, competitive event.
Swiss (Recommended for 16+ players): Everyone plays every round. Points accumulate. Best format for TFT because it rewards consistency over single-game variance.
Round-Robin: Great for smaller groups (8-16). Every player faces every lobby combination. Takes longer but gives the most accurate results.
Single Elimination: Fast and dramatic. Top 4 advance from each lobby. Works well for finals or time-constrained events.
Use the official EMEA Esports Rulebook points system: 1st = 8pts, 2nd = 7pts, down to 8th = 1pt. This is the standard used in official Riot tournaments and what TFT Clash uses by default.
Tiebreakers (in order):
For multi-lobby events, use anti-stack seeding: players who were in the same lobby last round get split into different lobbies. This prevents the same players from facing each other repeatedly.
Other seeding options: random, rank-based (strongest players distributed evenly), or snake draft.
TFT Clash handles lobby assignment automatically for all seeding modes.
Have players enter their placements directly on the tournament page, or have an admin enter them. No screenshots needed. The platform tracks everything automatically and updates standings in real time.
After all rounds are complete, finalize the standings. The platform auto-calculates points, applies tiebreakers in the correct order, and generates shareable result cards for social media.
TFT Clash lets you run a full season: weekly clashes with cumulative standings, drop weeks, Hall of Fame for season champions, and permanent career stats for every player. No setup needed beyond creating the first clash.
